Starting at the early age of eight, Shane developed an incurable desire to learn and master all aspects of makeup effects, puppetry animatronics, and special effects in both manufacturing and practical applications. His interests took him many places; captain in a fire department, foreman in construction, industrial pipe-fitter and fiberglass foreman in a drag shop, all this gave him the experience in work ethic, tallent and leadership he needed to finally branch out and open his full-service studio in 2005 after five years as a freelance artist. Shane feels that creativity “Comes from the collaboration with the people you are surrounded with,” and that it’s the key to an excellent product.
With his background as an Art Director, Set Dresser and leader have made him an invaluable member of the Hellbent staff. His jovial personality and ability to inspire and motivate make him a professional joy to work with.
John carries over 20 years of experience in directing, producing and writing in the film industry under his belt. He is one of HBSFX's most accomplished partners, having worked on a number of films, television commercials and music videos. "Working side by side with John has been an absolute delight!" says Shane, owner of HBSFX.
Stephen has a background in physics and experience as a business unit managers for the organization that developed the world's first 4K digital cinematography camera in 1999. He worked as executive producer of the dramatic short film "As Time Goes By" (2002) and helped to show the comparison in quality and performance of digital and film cinematography. Stephen is a frequent spokesman for many entertainment industry groups and government agencies, and also holds patents in imaging and signals intelligence mission data processing. Having always loved beauty and art, Joel has spent the last 12 years learning from both college and teaching his self everything he could. He has done extensive work in both model and landscape photography also Photoshop and web design. In fact he is the designer of the Hellbent FX web site. In the last few years he has expanded into 3d and motion graphics visual effects.
